NEMER JOMAA

From humble beginnings in the valleys of Lebanon to building a lasting legacy in Canada, Nemer Jomaa’s journey is defined by resilience, vision, and an unwavering work ethic.

Born in 1936, Nemer learned the value of hard work at an early age, helping his father farm the family’s land from the age of seven. These formative years instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, responsibility, and perseverance—values that would guide him throughout his life.

By the age of 20, Nemer had mastered the craft of carpentry, developing the skills that would become the foundation of his career.

In 1966, driven by determination and the promise of new opportunities, he immigrated to Canada with his wife and young family, settling in Calgary, Alberta. Starting from the ground up in a new country, he quickly established himself in the construction industry, contributing to major projects, including a 30-storey building, while overcoming the challenges of a new language and unfamiliar surroundings.

Determined to build something of his own, Nemer began taking on independent projects in 1967, acquiring properties and transforming them through hands-on craftsmanship and a keen eye for opportunity. His ability to recognize potential where others did not became a defining characteristic of his approach to real estate and development.

In 1977, that vision took a significant step forward with the incorporation of Jomaa & Sons Construction Ltd.—a company founded on integrity, family values, and a commitment to long-term growth.

Nearly five decades later, those same principles continue to guide JOMAA, shaping communities, creating lasting value, and carrying forward a legacy built on hard work, trust, and excellence.
